Jack is Back!

Josh McCurdy treats us each Halloween season with his fabulous jack o' lanterns.

A Jack begins as a wheel thrown sphere.

Then Josh carves extraordinary faces.

Next, the Jacks are stained and prepared for firing.

And here you go.

Josh brought a group of his amazing Jack O'Lanterns into the gallery on Monday.  Stop by soon to see them!

Second Saturday is almost here!

We love Second Saturdays! They gallery fills with old and new friends, eager to meet our member artists, have a bit to eat, enjoy a glass of wine, and to see some of the best art in the region. And then, of course, there is the free drawing!

This month, Jewely Gwaltney is our guest artist and will be on hand for the opening of her photography exhibit.

And Carol Gilliland will be giving away this brand new necklace. Be there at 6:00 for your chance to win!

Hannibal is hosting its first Steampunk Festival August 30th and 31, 2014 and we are "gearing up" for a weekend of fun and fantasy.

It's a celebration of history, art, science and fantasy, all drawing inspiration from that richly textured and highly decorative period of time we know as the Victorian era.

Several of the gallery artists have worked on Steampunk art for the Festival. Margaret Fessenden's Steampunk dolls are the perfect embodiment of this movement. And Andrea Linderman's "Time King" photo captures the power and beauty of the Industrial Revolution.

So be sure and visit Hannibal for the Great River Steampunk Fesitval and join in the fun!
